And it's a shame because it seems to me that the SCPD doesent want to solve this case. I can't even remember the last time this case was brought up in a press conference or news release. No pleas for tips, no nothing. I don't think they have publicly commented since after they found Shannon Gilbert's body.

Just because they're not holding press conferences, it doesn't mean they "don't want to solve this case". I assure you, there are investigations ongoing. This is not an easy case and I wouldn't be surprised if it's never solved.

You bring up a good point, one of the things I think complicates this is that I don't think all the bodies are connected. They could be looking at up to 5 different crimes with 5 different perpetrators.

I also am not convinced that Shannon Gilbert was murdered, I think she died of exposure to the elements in her drug induced stupor combined with her untreated bipolar disorder.

That's a good possibility, but the ones in burlap bags are more likely to be connected.

I don't think she was murdered either. I do feel that if she was a person who was meant to die young, God picked the right area for her to die or all those victims may never have been discovered and never get justice. Let's hope SCPD can find out who (single or plural) committed these heinous murders.

I don't believe Joel Rifken had anything to do with these murders. The Gilgo Beach killer most likely doesn't live in the area... he's what's know as an organized killer, which means he's very meticulous in his planning. He probably worked in the Oak Beach area, or went there as a child.

Spota said theres more than one killer. He is expected to say that. It may be difficult to charge someone with all the murders no matter what you believe. He will stick to the four victims wrapped in burlap. Thats if and when an arrest is made. Dormer and the FBI said its one killer. Watch youtube Get Arrow Security-Dormer. Its in 7 parts. You will understand why he and the FBI came to that conclusion. It makes sense.
