I am an animal lover however I would rather have a hunting season where people will likely eat the meat than see a dozen or more deer killed by cars everyday out here.
The population of the deer and the wild turkeys is out of control now. There is not enough natural food for all of them.
I belive years back part of that property used to be opened to hunting to control the deer population.Take a ride on sunrise hwy.out east early mornings during the deer rut and you will see the sorry mess of car kills on both sides and in the middle of the highway its really sad to see.

Hunting is factored into population controls. When the season was shortened in Sullivan county, traffic accidents due to "out of control" deer tripled and some were fatalities (for the deer AND the person). I drove around there late one winter night and it was like Children of the Corn...red eyed deer at the side of the road every 1/4 mile just staring at the headlights like robots. Creepy. If black ice isn't bad enough, add deer to the mix.
My curious question is if the area is "fenced" how are those deer going to end up on the highway?! Why would you have to contain a population that is already contained?!
