Dolan & the other CV salaries + other compensation is ridiculous. Add that to the other expenses involved in running CV (like what they pay to other outlets for rights to HGTV or ESPN), etc., and up, up, up go the rates.

How many utilities or TV services allow customers to negotiate rates, though?

don't forget we are also paying for all their executive helicopters that annoy and endanger the residents of Bethpage and Plainview twenty times a day landing and taking off from their illegal heliport.

It doesn't bother me that much - I don't live around there , but I work in the area. I feel for the poor parents of young children who have to deal with their homes being rocked off their foundations 20x/day while they are trying to get their kids to take a nap though. It certainly isn't very neighborly of the company.
I often wonder how the Dolan's neighbors in Mill Neck/Oyster Bay Cove area would feel about having helicopters land and take off in their neighborhoods all times of the day and night. Of course it would never happen.

they do live on the northshore and I hear the helicoptor noise affects them more than any other parts of the island so they do feel the pain like the rest of the people.

FYI, the dolans have verizon.

This from the guy who has created at least 3 different id's to defend cablevision at every opportunity but will never answer the simple question of why?

I think it may be a little noisier when they land next to your house vs. flying at 3000 feet a mile off the coast. Just a guess
