Of the top 25 food vendors with the most health violations in NYC, ALL of them are halal food carts.
Stay close to a bathroom!

There's a Turkish place on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead near the Cherry Valley intersection.

I can't tell you whether it's good or bad since I have never eaten "halal" food.

Vendor guy! If you go late the line will be around the block.

That's a lot of reviews! I might have to check that out. I always see the Halal shops in Elmont, but never thought to try it.

Why not just go to a restaurant and get "hala" food? Probably cleaner and safer than a foodcart...

That's great, don't eat from them. The topic of this post was locations of carts on Long Island, not their cleanliness or lack thereof.

I have eaten street food for years and never got sick. If you think restaurants are so much cleaner never go into a restarants kitchen

Exactly, if you saw some restaurant kitchens no matter how high class it is you'd never want to eat there. My favorite street food is the Dirty Water dogs. Never had Halal food but it sounds really good. My husband has eaten the beef on a stick from those carts and says it very good.

Oh, I miss those carts! When I worked downtown, there was one in particular that I preferred! Delicious food, plenty of it, reasonably priced and served with a smile
If you were a "regular", the guy would see you, nod, and your order would be prepared just the way you like it!

It's a misnomer to refer to Middle Eastern Arabic "Halal" food as simply "Halal" food.

Indonesia and India, home to the largest and second largest Muslim populations (non-Arab Muslims, I add), also have "Halal" food that is different from Middle Eastern Arabic "Halal" food.
