"Hanukkah" and all of its associated spellings is what is called a "transliteration," since it is a Hebrew word. Therefore, the spelling of it is rather arbitrary, since Hebrew uses different characters. The "ch" at the beginning is meant to be the sound like when you're clearing you're throat, as this is a common sound in Hebrew. However, since we don't usually make this sound, the "c" has mostly been dropped.
I'll be at my moms with my in laws and anyone who decides to drop in. It's kind of an open invitation at my mom's on Christmas Eve. Any one we know is welcome to stop by for a bite to eat. We exchange our gifts with her after dinner. Christmas day is at my brother in laws and we usually get there around 2 pm and snack on appetizers and then eat dinner around 5 or 6pm. We exchange gifts in between the dinner and appetizers. I wish everyone on CD A Merry Christmas and a Happy Chanukah
What time shall I come by? I'll bring wine
