I am looking to see if there are any affordable daycares that will allow only once weekly in close proximity to my home off Merrick Road in Wantagh. We had planned to send my now 2 year old daughter to school next year (her birthday is in November), but have decided to consider other options due to a variety of family circumstances.
My husband works from home and currently watches her during the day, but as she gets older and the naps get shorter, I foresee this becoming an issue- not to mention, I really feel that she needs some outside social interaction.
I had heard good things about Our Redeemer in Seaford, but I don't know the pricing or if they have a minimum day/hours requirement. Again, price is important...so if you know tuition rates that would be excellent!
Plan on it, but they are closed this week for Christmas recess....wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them, or anyone else in the local area....
Tutor Time. We love it and there are multiple locations.
Not all Tutor Times are owned by the same person. Beware of this. I know there's one in Commack that is supposed to be excellent and then there's on in Syosset that I heard bad things about. I thought all Tutor Times were the same until I looked into it myself.

I worked in 2 tutor times back from 1996 to 2001. I worked in the one in Mineola and East Rockaway. Both owned by the same people, Eventually the mineola location was sold to the corporate office and then went downhill after I left in 1999. The department of health evenutally shut it down and it never re-opened. The East Roackaway location was better but IMO stay away from all Tutor Times. As the OP stated not all Tutor Times are owned by the same person and each one has a different reputation, mostly negative from what I have heard and experienced.
Thanks but Maplewood is not what I would consider affordable; and besides that they are not a daycare, they are a school and they have a 2 day minimum. Plus you have to enroll for an entire school year on the same schedule.

Thanks. Yes, I was sort of trying to avoid any of the chain places (Tutor Time, Kiddie Academy, etc.) simply because often times the franchise is sold or transferred-plus some are better than others.
Ideally I would like to find more of a locally operated independent place....so many things to consider though....
