2. Cablevision raised the speed caps to 21.5/2.5 and kept the advertised speed at 15/2
FIOS has been running ads citing statistics from an independent survey that shows CV's speeds are rarely as advertised during peak hours.

They were citing an FCC study. The ads were only changed to remove the indication that the data is current instead of pertinent to the time period in which the study was conducted. Wouldn't call that "way off", but your bias isn't permeable by logic.

The samknows testing isnt very good either. There are way less samknows testing routers out there then cablevision subscribers.

Yes, and since it apparently went over your head, let's try this a little more slowly. The suit was filed about a month ago, settled weeks ago, and you're just now posting a thread called "Cablevision sues Verizon" to toot your own horn. You then allege Verizon "lied again and again" when in fact they were pointing out Cablevision's lies and Cablevision was suing to cover their ass.

Taking all that into consideration, you can see how one might be unsure whether you actually read the article yourself.

Not really... seems Verizon changed a couple of words in the fine print. Just saw one of the ads in question last night, sorry to burst your bubble. The point they're making hasn't been affected by Cablevision's attempt to jam Verizon up via the court system.

Of course, as a longtime Cablevision customer, I already know all too well that my Internet connection often falls short of its rated speed. Even so, I still feel Cablevision offers a better bang for my buck than FIOS right now, so I don't get my panties in a wad over a few megs of bandwidth.

Verizon is using a flawed study. Out of the 3million+ subscribers cablevision has only a couple of thousand actually have the service. Thats not a very good cross section.

PS I have one of those sam knows boxes and they are very buggy.

And that's why you're a better representative for Cablevision (not that you're trying to be than the OP is under any of his ID's. His ranting and fanboyish posting style is best left for Star Wars vs. Star Trek debates. Here....he actually helps make Cablevision less appealling.

I am still amazed at the fan-boy-ism on both sides. Maybe if the companies stopped spending millions on weak ad campaigns and lawsuits they could lower prices, provide better service and keep their affiliates (CV), employees (Verizon) and customers happy.

Ladies stop bickering. I cannot for the life of me wonder what you people are doing with 25mb down and 15mb up to the net. There is not that much porn available in all the world to download and upload. I remember the days when you would run a 100 person company from only a single T and you were productive and made money. Would some people here enlighten me as to what you're doing with those speeds that you notice it and your life is really affected if you don't have it.

Whether the study is flawed or not, it gives Verizon the ability to call Cablevision out on a gripe we've been hearing for years from optonline subscribers. Legally you need some kind of study to make ads like Verizon's, but realistically all you have to do is check out dslreports or any other site where people discuss these matters. Except in the eyes of people like the OP, Cablevision's below-advertised speeds are a pretty well-known fact.

But even so, like I mentioned before, how many people are gonna jump ship because they're getting 13Mbps instead of their rated 15, or 45Mbps instead of 50? I know I'm not, though once my triple-play discount expires you can be sure I'll be giving FIOS a long look.

Thanks mate Fanboys have a way of making even the greatest product on earth seem undesirable, so it's good to give them a reality check whenever possible.
