News 12 just said the cops approached the car in the parking lot at about 5:15 this morning, a suspect emerged from the car and struggled with the cop and the cop sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, it is unclear who shot the officer in his leg. The partner then chased and shot and killed the suspect. The update at 8:46 this morning stated the as yet unnamed officer is in surgery with non-life threatening injuries.

Glad the officer is expected to survive and that the perp was terminated.

I'm fully expecting that the perp's family will try and sue NCPD in a wrongful death suit. After all the perp wasn't even armed. He was just defending himself from an 'attacker' whose gun went off in the struggle, then ran away from the other 'armed attacker' obviously fearing for his life. (sarcasm intended).

Oh, the pain, suffering & moral outrage... somebody gotta pay....

I just watched this on the news...but I didn't even realize what channel was on. Not that it matters, as long as it's not News 12.

Sad story. We move closer and closer to being Brooklyn every day.

Guess again. Danger is faced by cops in jurisdictions big and small, rural and city, from coast to coast. All it takes is one mutt with a gun. Anytime. Anywhere.

They shot him while he was running away? Did the officer draw the gun and misfire? So many questions unanswered at this point.

The suspect that was killed was a father to a young boy, worked for local282 union (Teamsters), recently got engaged. What the heck happened here???? I would like to see the dash cam video when its available.

If this guy was black, which he's not, nassau county would be in a world of trouble with Jesse Jackson and al sharpton.
