Actually, I drove through Lakeview a week ago. It was, in fact, very nice.

I say this all the time. I have some neighbors who don't have a lot of $ that I know of, I would not call them poor at all. But they are just slobs on top of that. They are young and healthy and they have fences that have peeling paint, they never rake or take care of their grass. And I say to that, it doesn't take having $ to take care of your property. And they are home plenty to do this, so time isn't the issue either. And THAT is what makes them undesirable.

Default Wheatley Heights

Yes, I agree. Wheatley Heights is a very nice area that is not majority white. However, it is constantly stuggling to distance itself from nearby Wyandanch.

I was driving down a road in Kings Point and stopped at a red light and was prepared to make a right. A b*&^% in a Mini Cooper started honking behind me. There was none else around. Then I turned and went in the left lane and she passes me on the right staring.

If you ever take the N22 through there you notice the bus actually makes every stop. Quite odd.

I think "white-flight" early on destroyed the economic base/clout of hempstead. What was left was an area politically and economically abandoned and ignored.

But to be fair this night/day effect with respect to neighborhoods is pervasive thoughout NYC Metro area and is not common to GC alone....
This whole "white flight" thing has been happening at the Xsport Fitness gym at Roosevelt Field Mall. I've been with the place since it opened over a year ago and it seems that the whole social scene has gone downhill. It's an Equinox Fitness for minorities. When I observe the group fitness classes I see all these ghetto acting women. The other day I was in the sauna and I had this kid "hsst" at me.

Brentwood is the worst town, in my opinion. I lived there for 4 years and was glad to leave.

I had my backyard set on fire, bike stolen, and house broken into twice.

What's wrong with Baldwin?

I live in Baldwin Harbor and I can say I feel safer there than Brent-nightmare (oops I meant Brentwood)
