Anyone have any info on when these stores are opening? I heard cashiers at BJ's talking about it as if it is soon but I can't find any more info! From what I understand, it is planned for across from the Tanger Mall. There has been a sign there for 3 years saying "Coming Soon" but no stores listed. Also, I don't consider 3 years "soon".

Riverhead town and their permits like to hold things up, as well as residents. Costco was mentioned in a recent article about finalizing design plans and permits, but their are also local residesnts with adjacent land that are fighting the design of the shopping center in regards to noise and such.

That's what I heard. But the retirement village there is so close to Riverhead Raceway, how much more noise could a Costco make? LOL I thought maybe, just maybe, cuz Lowes opened this may not be far behind.

As far as I am concerned, Riverhead was ruined when they put in the Tanger Mall and all that followed. They killed the Main Street. Sweezy's is gone, Sears is gone. It's really a shame. I loved Riverhead 25 years ago. The only reason I want those other 2 stores is cuz I want to transfer.
