Word has it that when the Waldbaum's closes in East Islip, Traders Joes is moving in.
A Best Yet is supposedly moving into the new complex in Islip Terrace where Marys Pizza is.
Both of those would be quite welcome, especially TJs as the closest one to anyone in southwestern Suffolk is currently Commack. Best Yet is a little better represented here as they have stores in West Islip and Oakdale.
I was in that Macy's last month to do some xmas shopping, it definitely looks straight out of 1977. I'm guessing this is less of a remodel than a complete gut and rebuild.

that would be great if trader joes moved to east Islip because that's a 5 min ride for me. Otherwise I have to go the one in Commack.
