Great area, great schools, close to all and best of all ....taxes that are reasonable and fair. LI taxes are really strangling the middle class. long Island is a wonderful place but I now want a different way of life. Happier pace so I can enjoy my life and kids.
Bingo! Best of luck to you. Great move. I feel the same way.

Hey gang, if possible let's keep this thread about why a person should choose the Island and avoid the why they should move. Thanks!

Try finding that somewhere in like rural KY or something.

Just saying, for me... the above is what keeps me here. Is it expensive? Yes, but I'd rather pay more to have the things I enjoy and the people I love close to me.

Everyone is different... yes i want a cure for a cancer as much as the next girl, but I wouldn't knock LI or move away just b/c we don't have the leading facilities for cancer research. LI is still a great place to live!
Yeah, but besides all that irrelevant stuff, why move to long island?

If you need help with directions off the Island, google maps is free, you know? Or you can live out your NIMBY days here and complain til you turn 17 and finally get your license.
**Assuming you can pass the written permit test.

The things that attract people to LI are fairly well-known.
