If the OP wasen't so open about how obviously rich they are - I would suggest Lake Ronkonkoma seeing as It's beaches are in both Smithtown and Brookhaven, will find plenty of needles there!!
...and will be in both towns she is debating, lol.
Plenty of kids play outside on our block and in our kids friends neighborhood's, but you would be able to buy three+ of our houses here and we have ticks.
I can say that I have friends in three different Mt Sinai neighborhoods and all seem to be family friendly with kids and neighbors outside/pool parties.
Mt Sinai is closer to E Setauket, and The Villages has no trees so maybe they don't have ticks (although I can not fathom "ticks" being a reason for someone to move).
