Fans won't drive 5 miles to the coliseum, why would you expect anyone to take the LIRR and a subway to Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn. or maybe you think Brooklyn is the Islanders fan base.
The only way they have a reasonable attendance is if the trade unions turn out in mass, this is just another advertisement, what part of the county is broke don't people understand. If Wang wants to build a new stadium let him do it, he has the money.

He tried. Kate and Co. threw up the roadblocks. A new arena alone will not bring in enough money for private investment to be interested. They want more extensive development. Nassau, Hofstra, NCC and most residents were on board. ToH blocked it as usual. The Kate regime has a penchant for fenced in vacant lots.
there is an LIRR stop at Atlantic avenue (change trains at Jamaica).

He could have gotten it built there, if only he had greased a few more palms aka hire D'amato relatives for no show jobs.

Just a wild stab in the dark here....the overwhelming majority of geographically unenlightened residents of Nassau and Suffolk (including me) could care less what the census bureau says regarding hamlet designations. For day to day living, postal zip codes work just fine, and, if I were to tell most people the Coliseum is in Uniondale, they would manage to find their way there.
