The Islanders are coming to Brooklyn!

Well, for one game, anyway.

Another lame attempt at hockey politics. The "Kansas City" bluff failed so now they'll threaten Wang with Brooklyn?! Sure. There is a reason the place wasn't built for hockey.

The NHL, Rangers and Dolans do not want a team in Brooklyn. They want the Islanders on Long Island with a new arena. They will make it very expensive and close to impossible for a team to move in.

The arena would need retrofitting for full time hockey and Markowitz and the Ruskie owner both promised only the Nets while developing the place. If by some miracle Wang sold out, maybe the league would green light a Brooklyn home. It is HIGHLY doubtful and the Dolans are already lawyered up to fight for infringement royalties for both the territory and the broadcast rights. They will have the backing of every other NHL owner that does not want a team plunked down in their market.

The world turns as Nassau County and Town of Hempstead keep their thumbs up their a**es letting a good development opportunity wither on the vine.

I don't think the Rangers/dolans can stop the Islanders from moving in to Brooklyn, as it is part of their territory(along with the Rangers)

Bettman might halfheartedly try to stop them, but in the end, the Islanders in a few years will no longer be playing in Nassau county coliseum. They didn't pay off the right people in the ToH, so Wang couldn't get the lighthouse project built. As a result the ToH and Nassau county will have a big white elephant sitting there in uniondale empty.
