at the new Hess station in Commack (just east of the Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike). Eight days ago was $3.57, then $3.61, $3.63, $3.67 $3.71 and now $3.75 ! Now I know there are many good reasons for the price increase (sarcasm) .
There was an article in Newsday several days ago that justified about 7 cents of the increase - but I thought there was a limit that gas stations could only raise their prices once a week - is that valid here on LI or not ?
Walter, are you there ?

new york law states you cant raise gas prices twice in one day. they can raise it everyday for a month straight as long as they dont raise it twice within a 24 hour period.

I was just there the other day and paid $3.71. I think the one on Jericho and Plymouth is above $4.00 for regular. That plsce is ALWAYS expensive.

X2. What they are doing is perfectly legal. This isn't the Soviet Union, if you don't like the price, there are plenty of other gas stations around to purchase fuel from.

I can't believe people flip out so much over one gas station that they go online and start a thread about it.

thanks Taz. I had read something last year about this limitation being in effect somewhere - it may have been a contractual thing with the gas stations on the NJ Turnpike or elsewhere - was just wondering ...

We've had someone flip out and start a thread because he heard a 3rd grade teacher showed her class the cartoon Cinderella.

It ended up being a long thread too.
