Hi everyone!! I just accepted a job offer in Levittown, NY and I was wondering if it's a safe place to live. I drove around Levittown a few months ago and it seems like a nice town to me but I want to make sure it's safe since I have a 6 year old girl. I also want good schools for my child however I'm not too concerned as the schools on Long Island seem pretty good through out the island and no matter what will probably be better than the schools where we are now in Georgia. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
One thing I notice when driving in Levittown - kids still play in the streets there, ride their bicycles around. Refreshing to see that ! -
south levittown schools are a little nicer i think, at least the upper grade middle and high school is...wantagh is next door - thats a great area too...good luck!
Its a very safe town , Most homes are owned by regular working class people like myself.
The school taxes are kinda high..and water bills can be surprisingly high also.
There is no option for gas here...
So be prepared to deal with an antique oil burner and paying $800 for a tank of heating fuel 5 times a year.
But , You can walk the neighborhood at any time of day or night without worry.
Long Island, in general, is a great place to raise kids. Schools for the most part throughout Nassau County are TOP rated (only areas to avoid are Uniondale, Freeport, North Valley Stream, Hempstead, and Roosevelt.). Levittown is a great town to raise kids. Very family friendly, pretty affordable for Long Island, good schools, and close to beaches, and shopping.

Welcome to the board. There's nothing wrong with Valley Stream North HS.
