And rightfully so. Sayville's mad because it will take even more attention/business away from its already struggling mom & pop filled downtown...shame.

One of my favorite downtowns on the Island. I hope they win to prevent it, but I doubt it.

There's a lot of people against this. People have been fighting this for years. DEIS doesnt mean it will get built any time soon. The zone change has to happen first. Thats why everyone concerned needs to be there on March 22 at Islip Town Hall at 7:30 to voice their opposition

The people of Brookhaven should be too as this parcel of land is near the Islip/Brookhaven border and will effect traffic for both and shoppers @ gateway plaza

With all the empty retail space around, that facet of this project is completely absurd. All it will lead to is another vacant buidling somewhere else even if they get a tenant. No net benefit to the community.
