A new article that just came out saying that another two Port Jeff Station men threatened a cab driver forcing the man to crash into a Mt Sinai gas station. Although Im sure Mt Sinai has zero crime, than the other areas of Brookhaven. Especially RP which also has some issues that are improving.

I've also been looking into the house prices of different areas. In the Lake Streets in PJS, about 10 went up for sale in 4 days. I guess some residents found out about about the shooters who lived nearby and were less than pleased.

The good part about coram especially by the W-Section is that you can get a home there and based on the block you have 3 different districts (Comsewogue, Longwood, Middle Country), so if you have a preference you can easily pick one based on your home choice without leaving the town. Out of the 3 I still think MC is the best but my preference in that area are Blair,Lyons,Colby (streets) that are within the Longwood district.

Updated: 10 Residents of Terryville Home Hospitalized For Carbon Monoxide Poisoning - Port Jefferson, NY Patch

The Patch says 10 people were taken from the home, other sources state 11. That's still a lot of people living in a 3 bedroom house. Note the comments at the bottom from locals.

That's funny how in one of the Comments, someone states the question in this thread title:

Port Jefferson Station/Terryville is quickly becoming another Brentwood/Bayshore/Central Islip and everyone stands by watching it happen, doing nothing.

This would solve the unemployment problem too.
There are too many people here for the # of jobs available. And they keep building only $600,000 houses. or these mega gated communities like the one opposite smithhaven mall.

Fun update (sarcasm), an elderly lady on my block right near the warzone had some drunk walk into her house and sit down on her couch last night! Thank god she is OK, really shaken up though. I caught the tail end of it, some young guy on the block must have seen or heard something, and dragged the guy out. Cops came and arrested him. I spoke to her after and am going to help her out with some additional locks this weekend. I am sure the cops reminded her as did I to never leave a door or window unlocked. She has been there a loooooong time and I guess is just used to the way it was long ago when you could safely leave doors unlocked.

another fine example of the deterioration of North Suffolk. Even old people now are in danger. Might as well live in Bed-Stuy or East NY.

My friend had strange men wander through her property and also go onto her porch while she lived in PJV. She always kept her doors locked. Between the hospitals, Hope House and other facilities in upper Port, you never know who is floating around, much less what they are capable of.
