Have you stopped laughing yet? Of course it is not a laughing matter, but the cops seem to think all is normal here. There is so much wrong with the police and so many levels of government here it is a complete disgrace.
Humorous to say the least. But its a disgrace what happened to this town with the general decay and plummeting home prices. Theres even broad daylight dealing by the Bravo at times. The cops need to step it up, although I have heard they are not allowed to tell the homeless to leave the area. They are afraid the men will tell Pax Christi and get the SCPD sued, so basically they have the governments protection.

All it would take is someone to drive 5 minutes around my area and they would see for themselves. I couldnt stop them from doing that! WellI could try.

Run for mayor. Then if you win, work on running the dirtbags outta town. Are the (non-dirtbag, working, taxpaying) people around there fed up enough?!?!?! They should be from what I hear!

PJS doesn't have a mayor but PJV does.
It's an out of sight out of mind problem for lower Port. As long as the problems stay up the hill or on the south side of. LIRR in PJS, the Villagers turn a blind eye and celebrate diversity. Once the tide turns and more indigent or brown people start living in homes carved into illegal apartments by unscrupulous landlords, the kumbaya diversity cheerleaders will clamour for change.

Yeah Ray, you need to run for mayor!!!
All you have to do is keep calling the cops all the time for suspicious activity that you see and have your neighbors do the same. Eventually they will patrol a little more. If it is just one person calling, they'll just think you're a nut.

Nice of them to do it at times when people are at work!! I spoke to a police officer the other day about something, and he told me he was the only officer on duty from PJ to Setauket. There lies a big part of the problem, too few officers. Sad.

From the article:

Quote:
The community-oriented policing program will be comprised mainly of four separate steps, Gliganis said.
Examining the problem, scanning for defining elements of it;
Looking into the issues a little deeper;
Gathering information:
-------Objective information from databases: crime statistics, calls for service, real estate data, census numbers, etc. "Anything that is black and white."
-------Subjective information from residents directly affected. Police wrote up a survey (see below) for locals to take and mail into the Sixth Precinct;
Taking information, subjecting it to analysis and coming up with strategies to combat issues or stop them before they start.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this what they should have been doing all along?

Time to reinvent the wheel!
