You could try the van wyck but I can't promise traffic will be much better, but it really depends on your destination...
I usually use my google maps navigation on my droid to give me the alternatives because it includes traffic. But if you don't have that option, just use regular google maps to give you all of the alternatives from point a to b, and use your best judgement on which will be fastest. The shortest distance isn't always fastest... And a lot depends on time of day! We drive from east Northport to exit 9 on the belt at least once a week, and it all depends on the time of day. Could be 45min, has been over 2 hours on bad days!
I was just @ that Racino yesterday and I won $1.60
Is it possible to grab the Conduit from there? Then you could just take it to the Southern State...via, Merrick Rd, to Cornwell Ave, to Franklin Ave...then get on SSP and then get the LIE from the NSP via Meadowbrook Pkwy or via SOB Expy.
Sorry not too familiar with that area but I'm a South Shore girl and whenever I get fed up with the Belt, I get off the Brookville Blvd/Conduit Ave exit and take Sunrise Hwy home.
we went 2 weeks ago on a sunday. we went early morning around 10:30am.
had the run of the place. no lines, parked right near the entrance.
man i never lost so much so fast... not that we gamble big . my wife and i each took one hundred bucks . we were out of money playing quarter slots in the blink of an eye.
I can't believe people really go there. . . . that explains the added traffic. . . learn the side streets the van wicked is no better.
