I see fox often at my Dad's place in Blue Point. Almost daily. This year he says he's even seen some kits.
You are much more likely to be attacked by a neighbor's pet dog than a wild fox. They are naturally timid animals when it comes to humans. People need to give it a rest with the scare tactics. Don't we have enough drama in our lives already (what with school budget votes and all)?
Adults have nothing to fear from a Fox..that doesn't have rabies.
Very small children DO have something to fear from Foxes. It's not alarmist, it's fact.

We've had fox in our area of Huntington for a long time. There's one that cuts through my parents yard frequently. I just saw my first one near my house this Spring - it met up with the neighbor's cat, they just stared at each other for a minute until the cat scooted into her house and the fox went the other direction!
I think I saw a mother and "junior" size fox running around the sump a few weeks ago. There is a very large wooded area between my parents and me so I wonder if they live in there. Kind of neat to see them.
