We are looking to purchase a house in either Lynbrook or Sysosset. I was wondering if the towns has a decent amount of Asians? And which is a better town to raise a family? We have 2 young kids entering pre-k, thanks! Also, an easy public commute to NYC is a top priority. Thanks!

Syosset definitely has more Asians than Lynbrook, which has almost none. I would personally rather live in Syosset than Lynbrook. A public commute would be much easier in Lynbrook though as its train station goes directly to Penn Station and it's only a 30 minute ride.

If you can afford Syosset I wouldn't even be looking at Lynbrook.

Syosset easily is a better choice between these 2. Lynbrook may be closer to the city but Syosset has a better SD. Get a Town of Oyster Bay parking sticker and you can park at Syosset although a lot of people go to Hicksville (more parking, 2 train lines)

Syosset I been house hunting for a while now, Syosset definely is better then Lynbrook. The schools and straight rush hour express train from Penn Station to Syosset station beats Lynbrook. Only thing I don't like about Syosset is " Where are the supermarkets"

Overall Syosset has more "asians" and is nicer except maybe if you're looking south of Jericho. In that case, you might end up on a better block with a nicer house in Lynbrook.

Lynbrook LIRR commute is better and there's a giant King Kullen on Jericho in Syosset.

There's also a huge Stop and Shop on Jericho in Woodbury, and you're just minutes from Fairway in Plainview.

Toyota vs Lexus, which would you prefer to drive?

If you have the money, this question, which is an anology to your original question, should be a no-brainer.
