Simba. So glad we were able to help you in this difficult decision. If you ever get to these parts why not come and visit and see that we were being honest with you. We have a lot to offer but it does not come cheaply. Good luck in all your future plans where ever they take you.

I honesly don't know what to believe anymore about your post. As far-fetched as it was, I can only hope it was genuine and we helped you from making a huge mistake. I can't understand why anyone would come to these boards under false pretenses just to stir up trouble (although, unfortunately, I know it does happen). It's sad to see that occur since there are basically two purposes to the boards (the way I see it anyway) - to give each other constructive advice and to laugh WITH each other instead of AT each other.

A short story. After I taught H.S here and relocated to NC to teach for a few years I had my eyes opened. There were things that as NY'er I took as gospel, so to speak. I admit, I was the wrong one and it came from my lack of education about the region I was currently living in as well as my own preconceived notions. I will give you an example.
We all know the "fake" names kids put on rosters Jim Nasium, Manuel Labor etc. being from NY I had seen them all and rarely got caught. I was teaching and calling the roll and there was a student whose name was Sean Fitzpatrick, (I did not know this at that moment). I call Sean Fitzpatrick and a young black student raises his hand and says "here". In my effort to be authoritative, in my own ignorance, I challenged him as to what his real name was. The Sean Fitzpatrick's I knew were all freckles and red headed. I had made an assumption, based upon what NY kids had done in the past on attendance sheets, trying to pull the wool over a teachers eyes. I just "knew" that this black young man was trying to pull Ms. Smarty Pants' leg and he was not going to get it by me. I finally had to look at his books to see I was wrong. Shame on me, I "knew" where I was, but had actually forgotten that in the south many times the family the slaves worked for took that family name. Such was the case with Sean Fitzpatrick. I apologized to him and in the end he and his family became great friends with me and we stayed in touch for many, many years.
This was in the late '70's and it was a lesson for me to try to take what people say at face value and not look for anything beyond that. It was a lesson I really took to heart and to this day something that stayed with me.
You can call me naive and say that Simba was just toying with us, but I will always try to avoid judgment on what is presented unless I have facts that prove otherwise. Since I have no way to prove his story, I will believe it to be true and try to help. Hate to sound like a Pollyanna but that approach has not hurt me yet.

I think it still may be possible for such a God fearing man. You could all move into the basement of a God's house near Middle Island for free by having the good wife become the "super" to fix and clean up. For some "evil" money, if you switch from fertilizer to true BS then you'll do very well on LI.
