Now I'm sure I'll get several responses telling me to check at town hall but was just wondering if anyone knew off-hand.

Do fences in the town of islip have to be a certain distance in from your property line?

Quick Google of ToI ZBA hearings it would appear fence setbacks vary dependent upon your home's zoning and whether or not you are a corner property.

Depends on your zoning... There are multiple types of residential zoning.

West Islip is a part of Islip Town.... The previous commenters are correct, it depends on your zoning.

I don't know for sure and I don't think there is a limit, I just think that if you put up the fence, not one part of it can cross over the property line.

Height is the main issue. Also what type of lot you have (corner, thru etc)
