Beautiful area with alot to do. Still find great real estate at great prices. Taxes aren't too bad and you can live in a country setting and have great theatre, shopping and restaurants with in 10-15 minutes in any direction. Lancaster and its neighboring towns are the best kept secret on the east coast. Winters generally arent bad and the pace of life is wonderful for children. Tell your wife to try it for two years(or some similar amount of time) and if she really hates it, and I can guarantee she won't, then you will move back closer to her family. Real estate has held steady here for the last few years so the market keeps moving despite the economy!
