I inherited some jewelry. Some is gold I just want to sell(no sentimental value) and other pieces I would like to have apparised, possibly for insurance but mostly just to understand what they are. There's also some really nice costume jewelry from the 1950's that is not probably not worth much but that I'm curious about. Lastly, there's a string of pearls I need re-strung(the stringing may cost more than they're worth, but it's a sentimental thing). Any ideas of where to go? Months back I'd been planning to go to Freedman's since I'd worked with them before, but it's too late now.

I also don't want to spend a fortune having the stuff appraised, so if it would cost too much I may just pass. It would be great if the appraiser could tell me upfront so I could decide.

Thanks for any suggestions.
