No smarty, I have been back many times since then and still would not call it a dive.

How about Woody's Village Saloon in Massapequa Park.

Very divey...very good wings...cheap booze...plenty of grime....and a pit bull is part of the usual crowd.

BUT..without fail...the diviest of dive bars has to be the Broken Valise in Mattituck, right across from the LIRR station, up from Love Lane.

The only thing worse than the disgusting decor is the surly bartenders and skuzzy customers.

However it is a good counter-balance to all the Hampton crowd that is shopping on Love Lane.
