I am in Mt. Sinai now so I guess I am already doomed

Looks Like the deadly seven are:
Port Jeff/Port Jeff Station/Coram/Mt Sinai/E.Setauket/Miller Place/Sound Beach
(As I recall the day glo areas of E.Setauket are Poquott and the Dayglo areas of Sound Beach are Scotts Beach..no mention of Stony Brook)
If youre going to do N. Brookhaven make Stony Brook your minimum Western point and Rocky Point your minimun eastern point if you want to avod the clusters.
Best

They're both good school districts. WM's size might allow a wider variety of course options than PJ, but there's plenty of quality teachers, AP courses, etc. at both. PJ's town is definitely more fun and interesting, but the towns are right next to each other, so you can enjoy both no matter where you live. Not a snobby area in general, except for maybe a couple of the rich enclaves (Oldfield, Belle Terre).

I went to Murphy, dude! (I grew up in the "S" Section). That "North of 25A" stuff was mostly stereotypes, not a serious issue, I had plenty of buddies from both Gelinas and Murphy at Melville.

I'm from the H....but I spent a lot of time at Pond Path Sevs
It was 2 different towns in the 80s .
Maybe its different now that there's no real working class Stony Brook left.
Back in the day
Murphy kids = shed
Gelinas kids =commons.
: )
I digress

why, clamboy?
Cancer areas = Port Jeff/Port Jeff Station/Coram/Mt Sinai/E.Setauket/Miller Place/Sound Beach
Any thoughts about why this might be? There really aren't many industries except for LILCO in Port Jeff. There is that field near Old Town Toad in East Setauket . WHat is that , anyway?
Is Strongs Neck on the list, clamboy????? Not that I still live there, but that was where I spent every summer for over 30 years.

I love Strong's neck. What a nice area.
We looked there years ago, but couldn't find anything that didn't need a total renovation.
The north of 25A thing is an issue in certain areas. Here in Mt. Sinai, it's a big deal. I happen to live north of 25A, but I know certain people who think south of 25A is the dregs of society or something. It's really stupid.

Theres many theories that point to the Lilco/LIPA Stacks.
Poquott is ground zero, Strongs Neck/Old Filed are included in the Setauket Zips 11733
Ironically Shoreham with its Defunct Nuclear Reactor and BNL to the So. arent on the list.
I think it may be true....LIPA is the enemy.

Strongs Neck is right on Port Jeff Harbor & that is where the LILCO stacks are. I wonder if the same cancer thread is true in Northport & Sea Cliff. Why did they choose such pretty places to put those terrible things?

Power Plants need to be near a water source which is used to condense the steam after it has turned the turbine which makes electrical power FYI,P.S. fish love to be around the warm water discharge.
