Truly tragic...esp mindless "wilding" type murders/assaults.
Many persons sympathize with the Getz subway rider who defended himself. How many of US would have turned ourselves in for a kangaroo trial as that one was.

You are correct on that, I had a buddy who drove for Tootsie, she used to get dropped off at hotels at 14.
That case was never right.

I just can not imagine how her parents did not realize that one of their five daughters had left the house . What about all the other daughters? How could no one have ever seen her leave? Ever.
Is that guy still in jail ? I has always thought that his parents had mob ties & that was a part of it.

I think her death has plenty to do with poor parenting.
He got 25 to life.

Chris was a landscaper.
They were pretty working class as I recall.
He was a good kid.
Youd be hard pressed to find anyone who'd say otherwise.

How about the murder of Kelly Tinyes. She lived about 12 blocks from me when I was younger.
This is the story:
The March, 1989, killing in Valley Stream of 13-year-old Kelly Anne Tinyes was a crime among neighbors. Kelly's mutilated body was found by police in a basement closet of the nearby Golub home the morning after she had walked down the block after getting a phone call from someone at the Golub home. Robert Golub, 21 at the time, was convicted of the murder. The two families have remained on the same street ever since. Golub, now 30 and serving 25 years to life, denied any involvement.

After viewing the 48 Hours program on the Tankleff case, I think he's innocent.[/quote]
Yes, maybe I think so too. I went to the same school, was in the same grade and had no idea who he was until that happened. He wasn't a troublemaker jock or ritzy snob from what I can remember.

I think that Marty Tankleff is probably innocent, too. I imagine it was that scuzzy partner who disappeared the next day & changed his name.

The murder of the wealthy Cove Neck guy in the fifties which I think was made into a novel by Dominick Dunne (The Two Mrs. Greenvilles" ) . She got away with it (she said she thought he was a burgular), but was ostrasized forevermore by the "people who matter" .
