My husband had thought he heard that somewhere-certain cars can ride solo during hov hours-anyone else hear of or know anything about this-true or not?

And don't think of driving in the HOV if you are a qualifying car but don't have the sticker you will be ticketed. I don't own one but I recall somewhere in this forum a while ago this was discussed.

There is a list of cars that can apply to the Clean Pass program and get a sticker to drive inthe HOV without 2 people. Go to the Department of Motor Vehicles website and they list them. They change every year.

I have a Toyota Prius, its actually my second Prius. As long as this vehicle qualifies for the clean pass program I will never buy anything else. I live east of exit 68 on the LIE and I drive to western Nassau and beyond a few times a week for work and I go into manhattan pretty frequently. Being able to go in the HOV has saved me so much time and stress, plus my car is great on gas. I average about 50 mpg.
