Thanks for the info. I am on the mailing lists and I have gone to most of the Captree meets but it just ends up being a lot of cars and people hanging out. Levy was supposed to come out there but that never happened.

I moved out here and it was great when LI motorsports was around but then they closed shortly after. Let's see what happens.

The captree stuff was rallies, they were rallies to get the people together, problem with captree is you can't speak publicly and handing out info was also a problem..

Stick with the link on the lidrag board that takes you to the other site, sign up there and get involved.
If you hear a rumor go there and see what's going on, that other site has all the up to date info.

There is a lot of shady and corrupt things going on in RHD, it is amazing how they went thru a Q&E process and they never got confirmation on the money and it was proven by the motorsports association RR has none

Although I think this not the best way to spend $155 million (or triple that when all is said and done)...I have skied on one of these are they are a lot of fun.

Lift tickets are about $75 a day...only slightly more than Killington.

The sentiment of many posters is that this project will fail within a short time after opening. Here is a story about an indoor ski area that failed in Japan...
I skied this one as well...it was nice.

A 350' tall artificial eyesore (visible in CT it will be so tall!) or some heavy duty horsepower where Grumman used to have air strips?

It the racetrack was not to work out, they could rip up the asphalt and be done with it. But what if a 350' tall artificial mountain containing skiing fails? If LIPA is already having a hard time supplying power to LI, how in the heck are they going to keep a 350' ski mountain properly refrigerated?

Those of us who enjoy motor sports have to travel off of LI to watch or participate. Skiiers can head off island and be skiing in a matter of a few hours -- there's a ski mountain going up on the Meadowlands property; the LI mountain will have competition for the NYC crowd.

I have done the reasearch between the best indoor ski mountain and 1 small track.

IN 365 days of use the indoor ski mountain did not do nearly as good as the small race facility did in much much much less time of operation..

It wasn't even close...

So as per the money coming to the area....RR doesn't have what it takes..

Long Island has the largest per capita of insured cars pertaining to racing, and street rods anywhere in the US.
That does not include all those locked up in garages with no insurance on them waiting for a new facility, and there are thousands and thousands of those here on long island also.

Long Island is where all motorsports started in the united states.

The 1st for Road racing, the 1st for Stock car racing, Racing is long islands heritage and history...the roads were built for and because of racing...

The only thing what will work with no effort is motorsports.

Long Island had before poor planning was instituted 40 race facilities.


Do a little research and you'll see what will work, then just look around at what it is people use to generate money, sure isn't ski shows all across long island...see www.limotorsports.org you'll find a wealth of info from Money to History

Not to mention the town of riverhead entered into a contract with a company with terrorists ties, mob ties, illegal stock fraud, murder and there is to much to list..

Also they had a illegal Q&E and followed none of the procedure and just went into contract with RR soley because they are going to remove the 7,000' runway and leave the 10,000' runway unuseable...which is exactly what the prejudice and bigoted people of calverton civics have been looking for.

That was 1 of the major reasons Rex Corp wasn't approved, due to they were going to leave and take care of the 10,000' runway for use of bringing in big star atractions and the event of a national emergency use.

The thousands of people that wrote letters of support were all ignored due to corrupt govt, only on long island.
