GO VOTE. That includes telling every other adult you live with.

Let's see how many are stricken down this year... our town will see a $3mil increase from last year. Should it fail, the contingency budget is only a $244k increase.

Residents received a mailer that states that the following are excluded in the contingency budget: community use of school facilities, new equipment purchases, non-essential maintenance, and capital expenditures pursuant to section 2023 of the Education Law. So is it really worth the $3mil. increase for that? Everyone received one of these mailers... coincidentally only 1 day before voting, and probably only because they are required by law to send it.

so is this downpour going to deter voters? What happens if nearly nobody voted... is that good for yes or no?

Seniors may stay home with the bad weather. Parents will still be picking their kids up from school.

why was there a voter registration day a few days ago? Can't anybody who's got a valid license showing their residency just show up? Would I need to bring a recent bill or something?

AFAIK you have to be registered to vote just like an election.

It will be interesting to see how those districts that exceeded the cap fared, seems like most districts are trying harder but withmany it's business as usual.

I voted no on the budget but yes as to the library budget. not so much because of the high taxes but the fat should be trimmed for superintendents and other high level admins making sick salaries of $350K and up.

Can I ask what motivated you to vote yes?
