"Lobbying" or the real word bribery of the politicians by civil service unions. Getting unsustainable returns promised on their pensions, and overexpansion of govt service and workers.

Let's not forget the acceptance of spending 20/25K per student for public school. God only knows where that money goes...
Yes and someone's 2nd or 3rd home in montauk... They have teachers and cops in other areas of the country that have better schools and don't spend as much..
Were there ever a time on Long Island when taxes were rational?
If so, when was the turning point when taxes started to become what they are today? What triggered it?
1. Unions: Cops making 150k ++++, teachers salaries
2. Sanitation pick up 3-4 times per week.
3. Paying for the illegals medical, to go to school, ect..
I am NOT knocking people's salaries. You need to make that kind of money to live here.
However, 300-800k +/- for school superintendents has got to stop!

I always get curious how much worse this will get.
