I'm not sure who to contact with this and asking for help from anybody to put me in the right direction. The building that my office is located now has 2 problems. The air conditioning broke today, about 110 degrees in the office, and while i went home cause of the unsafe working conditions, the owners made people stay and work in the heat, while they had fans and windows open. Another problem is that they have the bathrooms cleaned once a week, while they get used as many times as a public restroom on a daily basis. Some times somebody is nice enough to clean up after themselves, but most often, it is very gross. What office in nassau county or town of hempstead can I call to get some inspectors over to the office, anonymously of course.

You cannot blame you employer if the a/c just broke. If the system has been broken and they have failed to get it fixed thats another issue. As for the employee's that needed to stay and "suffer" through that is their concern not yours. The restroom issue should be brought to managements attention through the office manager or through your imediate supervisor. Just ask can the rest room get cleaned more frequently it gets pretty bad.
Your urgent desire to turn your employer in makes me wonder if you are just unhappy with your job in general ???
No one is going to come to your rescue because you are uncomfortable. Stop whining..lots of people dont have the best toilet facilities and not everyone has air conditioning where they work.
How can it get 110 degrees if it's only 90 outside? Do you work in a server room or something?
I know where the OP is coming from...I have had friends that worked in factory type places that the heat does gets extreme from all the machines. However - this is typical for that type of job and employees should know and be aware of the conditions before they start working.
Like someone else said...if the a/c always worked and now is not due to lack of them fixing it, that's another story.
My husbands is at his job 20 years and they have never had A/C he just deals with it but if you have a job with A/C and it broke it's not the employers fault unless he plans on not getting it fixed then you have an issue. As for the bathroom just report the conditions to management.

It can easily get hotter than the outside temp due to south facing glass, poor ventilation, etc. Kind of a knee jerk inaccurate reply. How does a car interior get to 120 when it's 90 out? Easily.
That said, unless there is a pattern of neglect, you can't just "report" your boss to someone. Maybe he/she's not happy about the heat either. Try communicating professionally about when it might be fixed. And send a memo to your stanky workmates to not skeeve up the bathroom or put up a sign that says "your mama don't work here...clean up after yourself."
The OP obviously never commuted into NYC and took the subways before the 1990s when there was no air conditioning and you had a packed train.
