Does anybody have any information about Valley Stream 13?? I have an autistic 4 y/ old. I've heard from couple of teachers and mothers that the autism class, and special ed is great, but as far as getting services is very hard. Well, I experienced it myself, our CPSE meeting was a disaster, they would not give my son the services that he clearly needs. 3 Meetings to of which i walked out and now i'm in the process of getting a lawyer to go for another round. Heard once you are in the "school" it is great but for now it is being a disaster. By the way anybody knows about a "kick-ass" lawyer advocate???

I haven't been to a CPSE meeting in district 13 in a couple of years, but as I recall, they were quite stingy about services. I used to know of a good lawyer/advocate and I will try to see if I still have his business card. A friend of mine teaches resource room in district 13 and she's awesome.

Any info on Kings Park Schools???
My husband and I are getting ready to go to contract to purchase a home in the Kings Park School District. Does anyone have any information on this district for special services, etc? We don't have children yet but I think this is a good thing to find out... You never know what the future holds.

Hi my son has been in the Wantagh school district up and till 7th grade. He is in a self contained class with a lot of children in it. We are looking for outside disricts. He has a little below average IQ but he is suffering in the academics the gap keeps getting wider and wider as he gets older he is now working on an average of 2nd the 3rd grade level. Pathetic huh? He writes on 1st grade level. I'm pulling my hair out looking for another school. They want him to go to seamans neck road Boces. I've heard some bad things about that school? Has anyone else. My son is classified as speech and language impaired. He also has pdd, tic disorder, auditory processing, and ADD. I don't want him with disturbed children. Does anyone have experience with this school?

My sons school distict just applied there and he was turned down. I had hired a lawyer and went through a lot of trouble to get the application through and they denied him because his academics are so low. What do these schools want? My son has a little below average IQ. He has speech and language issues and auditory processing. That is what that school specializes in. Its ridiculous, these schools cost more than college!

You need a lawyer but first apply to the school to see if your child gets in first.

What did you find out about North Shore school district? What grade is your son in?

Wantagh special ed stinks. I am getting my child out of that district. There is A school psychologist who works there and is unstable. NOT GOOD. |
