Default Jericho, Syosset or Woodbury?

My husband and I (plus 2 babies ) are moving out of NYC. My husband is from Long Isl and wants to move back. We are considering Jericho, Syosset or Woodbury. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which town is better? thanks!

What's your budget and your wish list (including must haves and would like to haves)?
That might help narrow it down...

Better in what way? School district? Value? What's your budget & desired home style / lot size?

Woodbury uses Syosset schools. Jericho is better than Syosset schools. Prices reflect that but in general Woodbury costs more anyway. Woodbury is probably the best area as far as peace and quiet and nicer homes.

If you're considering Syosset, you should throw neighboring Plainview/Old-Bethpage into the mix. Schools are very comparable (slightly better in the latest rankings) and prices / styles are very similar too.

without knowing your budget it's hard to say but the overall pick would be Woodbury.

Jericho may "be better" than Syosset schools based on the scores, but Syosset schools are still very good. Your post makes it seem like Jericho is on a high horse and Syosset is a ghetto.

then I'd be saying my own Plainview district which I compared with Syosset is the ghetto, wouldn't I? Umm, no.

They're all like 6 percentage points from each other... Jericho is like 99.9 and Plainview is like 95.4 and Syosset 94.x if I recall. Either way, Jericho is better is what I said. Depends how much the parents care about schools - they're most likely moving their 2 infants here because of them.

If this were me, I could afford to live in Syosset, but not Jericho, so I'd be fine with Syosset

Both are very cut-throat school systems, so prepare your children to be under a bit of stress
