"Dad, Jan wants to know what to do with all of her scrap metal"
Between Two tacky Brothers, and Dr. Recession, I wonder which of them is buying up most of the stolen cemetery bronze plaques and urns that we're hearing about on a regular basis?
"Jus' teller to cawl tooo Bruddah's scrap metal"...
Is there a stop and shop near you? The one in Garden City has an organic food section. I saw quite a bit of the same stuff that I've seen in WF. The women in WF look better though....
Whole Foods isn't everything. Whole Foods wanted to come to my area, but the area decided they'd rather support the local chain instead of the national chain.

I don't know what state you're in, but I have both Whole Foods and a Wild by Nature (local market) near me. I shop WBN and never set foot in WF. WF is a little more centrally located while WBN is further north. Both seem to be doing well.

We just lost a local grocery store and rumors has it we will be getting Fresh Market, but it's very possible we could get Whole Foods or Lassen's. People want Lassen's since its local.

Wbn is owned by (I think) king kullen. It's a chain.

Yes, KK is parent to WBN.
In terms of chains: KK supermarkets (approximately 40 +/-) are located on solely on LI making it relatively minuscule in comparison to Whole Foods. WBN has 4 locations on LI. WF has 304 stores (per wikipedia) located in 40 states as well as Canada.
By my house, WBN and KK are in adjoining shopping centers. Stop and Shop is in the next shopping center east.
While I can't walk to any of the supermarkets, within a short hop I have Stop and Shop, WBN, 2 KK, 2 Waldbaums, WF, Trader Joes' Aldi's, and Pathmark.
I can't complain about the options I have for shopping, but have to admit it seems excessive.
