Although it has quite a bit to offer (like the Paramount) in terms of bars and eateries.

If you asked me where Id rather live, it would be Babylon Village hands down.

I find their bars and restaurants to be exaggerated. What do they have...Prime? Blah, expensive and filled with cougars. Honu? Meehans? Eh, they're ok. All other bars are college dives.

Plus it's a pain to get in and out of Huntington. 110 or 25a can be a *****.

Huntington Station is as dangerous a Long Island gets.
Makes you swoon for North Babylon lol.

Huntington is kind of a nightmare to get in and out of.
Babylons super accessible.

To each his/her own - isn't that what makes the world go 'round???

Would be awfully crowded if everyone agreed and all would want to live in the same place!!!

Vive la difference!

There are at least 100 more restaurants and bars than the ones you mentioned. They might be too expensive for you though. Anyone who comes and goes via 110 obviously is not too familiar with the the area. I recommend Woodbury Road (through Cold Spring Harbor) to Jericho to the Northern State or LIE (via Round Swamp).

I can't help but sense a tinge of envy in your posts. Anyone heading from Lloyd Harbor to the LIE isn't taking 110 or Park. Those are the tourist entrances. If you knew the local geography you'd know this.

Lots of dead giveaways in how much time people actually spend in Huntington with the "PITA" routes they use to get there.

But I'll agree the south shore is probably better suited to the simple-minded

Well, in terms of price, aside from Prime, I would say the restaurants in Babylon village are just as expensive.

Huntington does seem "bigger" from a walkable area standpoint, but Crooks both have access to main roadways.

Huntington has access to the NSP and LIE, and Babylon village is 5 minutes from Sunrise Highway and the SSP.

They also both have similar train stations in that both routes are about 1 hour, give or take.

I thought access to Tobay beach was only for residents in the town of Oyster bay? Isnt Babylon in the Town of Babylon??

The main factor if you will is that I work in New Hyde park, on Hillside avenue near New hyde park road.

Huntington would be a more "straight line" commute as NHP is closer to the LIE and NSP than it is to the Southern state.

I imagine the commute from Babylon would be longer and not as direct. (I would probably have to take Sunrise highway or the SSP to the Wantagh or Meadowbrook to the NSP).....

Also, do any of you find the parking in Huntington to be much easier than in Babylon?

Huntington has a lot of free municipal parking lots to choose from, if not you can even park on the street.

Huntington train station also has free parking on the street and in the outside lots, but Babylon I believe you either have to pay or be a resident of the town to get a permit?
