Based upon public pressure the Port Authority has established a 1-800 noise complaint hotline. They will be producing monthly reports based on these complaints and will lobby the FAA to modify air routes/altitudes based upon the volume of complaints received. It is very important that residents report all aircraft issues ie: noise, altitude etc to this 1 800 hotline.

"Although the Port Authority of NY & NJ has no jurisdiction over air traffic routes, procedures or altitudes, it has been a hallmark of the agency to be as responsive as possible to constituency concerns about this important community issue. The new noise complaint system introduced today expands our existing program, delivering a more robust, comprehensive and easy-to-use format for members of the community to contact the Port Authority with their concerns, so that we can in turn alert the Federal Aviation Administration with specific information on behalf of residents."

The system’s toll free number is 1-800-225-1071

You can also access the new system on line. The system can be found on the PA’s website at the below link.
