Rocky Point has some value homes....as cheap as $100,000. You cant beat that for value. Plus you get the award winning school district with world champ cheerleaders. You cant ask for more.

2nd best...probably The Danch.

Hempstead and Roosevelt are pretty affordable, but there's a reason.

This has to be one of the least expensive value purchases on Long Island....asking 100k...bet you could bargain it down to 75k

MLSLI.com

Where else could you get a 3 bedroom/0 bathroom house for that price?

Pretty much the farther east on long island you get the cheaper the houses. In the town of brookhaven houses tend to be cheaper because the school districts are bigger . They get to spread out the taxes between more people.

Check out the pics...they have a tub on its side in one of the rooms...must be remodeling the bathroom.

Its a value purchase though...and only about $7,000 in taxes.

Here's a little more info on this "gem"

It's bank owned and sold as is; translation: cash buyer! (Or possibly a rehab loan, but then you'd have to qualify for the purchase price PLUS fix-up costs, with work done by approved contractors)

Studded walls (!), no bath, no kitchen. Living room/dining room, 3 bedrooms, space for two baths, space for eat-in-kitchen. Shell Walls. (I'm quoting the listing here!)
Oh, and it does have a full basement

So, do you think it's still a bargain??
