So as much as this would have been nice, it doesn't mean this not happening will make things worse for GC. I do wish it would have happened, if there was any chance to improve Hempstead and turn it around somehow.

I didnt get that feeling when I worked in Garden City.
We were VERY aware of the other side.

Well you must have worked REALLY close to the Hempstead border, which most GC people do not want to live in for that reason.
I am in GC all the time, on Franklin Ave, very close to Hempstead and I barely ever see anything or anyone who may be a resident of Hempstead. Now some Hempstead residents may drive through on Clinton Road, but again, that is the outskirts of GC.
GC is very large. Most sections of it are VERY well protected by location.
Never saw what you are talking about, being honest here. Very very insulated.

I kinda feel bad for you....its like you finally get out of Queens, and your back in Queens.
My uncle took the plunge...he came from Douglaston and loves it out here.

Well, to be fair, we chose to move here. I like GC very much, it's some of the other Nassau areas I'm not sure about. For now, though, we are quite happy with our decision.

The next time they come up with an Idea to bring in KIMCO (Mall Devoloper) they should put it in the suggestion box's at town hall.
They are located at the end of the hallway.
....There are 6 in the one marked "WOMANS"
MO MORE MALLS, CONDOS IMMIGRANTS OR CHANGES PLEASE !
There is plenty of room on the S Bronx marsh land for them city people and Great Neckers who go for that Mall & Starbucks stuff.

Because it suits them to have cheap labor, rather than middle class Americans who'd demand a living wage; also, it suits them to get rid of manufacturing, which they don't care for ostensibly for ecological reasons, but really because of a bunch of class snobbery and dislike of people who work with their hands.

I've seen the same phenomenon, but ten times worse, in San Francisco. It used to be a nice place to live (best weather in America, if you don't care for hot or cold too much) but it's intolerable now.
