Those iron gates will last a lifetime with some maintenance. The wood gate will last 10-15 years as long as you power wash and stain them every year unless someone kicks them or backs a car into them.

oh wow. Never thought about that. Boo power wash and stain. Ugh, did not intend on doing that either.

If I don't like my black iron gates now, maybe I can just replace them for newer, more modern ones.

Had no idea about PVC. I just quickly googled it, and they look great! Are those very costly to have installed for a front gate/fence?

I was quoted in my recent project:

PVC 5'+5' double drive gates ~$7-800
single 4' gate ~$400

installed with vinyl posts set in concrete

Your examples are gorgeous and denote good taste and class (in my book). They will definitely make your house stand out from the more common and depreciating hurricane fencing & PVC.

Thanks! I'm hoping it's not in excess of $7K as stated above :/ But I'll check it out.

Looks like said $700-800, not $7k-8k. Though for some reason I initially read as $7000 too.

Oh wow! Went over my head - thought it said $7,800. That’s awesome news – I am elated. Sorry about the misread, and thanks for letting me know!
