The Rocky Point Italian Bread is reason enough to move here.
Its all they do and they do it well.

I know Patchogue gets a bad rep. but there are areas in Patchogue that are very nice. Roe blvd is gorgeous and also of course an area called Democratic hill is very nice.Moderator cut: advertising

Roe Blvd is Beautiful
Its kind of counter intuitive that nicest part of the town is the furthest from the water but I agree.

He said practically every home/business is now owned by Indians. We're not into goat meat and the like, so we don't want to live in an area that caters to their people. We want to move to a middle class, generally white area. I don't mind diversity, but I don't want to become the minority!

AH, good old Ozone Park. I'm actually a So. Ozone Pk. guy, but close enough! Wife is Ozone Parker, just off 101 ave. There are many posters here who express very liberal views towards immigration, w/o really experiencing the effects. I loved that area growing up, but I am sad whenever I drive through it now. I am now in West Babylon, and this area is like Ozone Park 25-30 years ago. Don't know about Rocky Pt. bread, but the bakery 4 blocks from me has bread as good as Severoli"s(on 101 ave+ 78st.). You should look into Babylon town, it has many possibilities. A lot of Queens transplants here, so you can share memories of the old neighborhoods. Be wary of people who tell you they live in the BEST area on Long Island. Many of these folks have never lived anywhere else so I feel their views may be a bit narrow. Feel free to PM me and we'll remember the way Ozone Park USED to be.

But, that is not the nicest part of the village, clammy. Right? It is sort of the only part that is kind of dangerous even.
But, that being said, I also prefer the North Shore (Cove Neck . lol)

It was nice when I was there, walk to train and downtown.
Safe,great commute to NYC.
Has it changed?
Babylon used to be one of the few towns that was nice over by the RR.
I think he was comparing to W.Babylon anyway which was right on the border of where I lived.
We wanted to buy in the village but it was too expensive ...we came out east and fell in love with the beach and bluffs in Rocky Point.

Someone said Bayshore? I lived there for the first 13 years of my life. And it is very comparable to Rocky Point. Though mostly white, there's bad in all colors!
But it is a 1000 X's better then Ozone Park!!

Bay Shore and Rocky Point have little in common except theyve both gentrified considerably over the last 10 years.
(Particularly South of Montauk)
N. Bay Shore/Brentwoood is still VERY rough.
Theres nothing quite like that anywhere along the N.Shore
Youve missed alot since you moved to Jersey 62.
When are you coming back home?
