Thanks a lot for the info. We saw it and there is one in the Home Depot store on Jericho Tpke (near LIE Exit 40) too. We thought it's Home Deport own rug sale event. Are the rugs at Home Deport good?

We have an area rug in our dining room that came from Home Depot. We are happy with it.

Home Goods and TJMax have beautiful area rugs. It's hit or miss wiith them but it is always a good buy.

I have bought some smaller ones from Kohl's of all places, including runners; have had them for eight years now and they're holding up beautifully!
Kohl's often has them on sale and if you have an account with them, they frequently offer additional % off, so you can really save $$$.
They have a large selection in lots of sizes online and will ship

Default Thank you

Thank you all for the helpful comments.

As a note, we went to Home Depot store in Westbury and checked out the rug tent. But we didn't find out a suitable one yet. The rug sale there will be roughly two more weeks.

If you're looking for something nicer than the box-stores and chains have, check out Country Carpet (they have rugs too) on Robbins Lane in Syosset. Really nice quality stuff.

Also, I'm not sure if they have area rugs or only wall-to-wall, but you could call G. Fried (on Old Country Rd in Westbury) and ask.

As in FYI, once you do buy your area rug make sure you use a pad underneath that will not ruin your floors. There's a brand called WunderGrip that is guaranteed not to damage any kind of flooring, and is made in Germany rather than the cheap store brands that are all made in China and contain rubber and other chemicals that can bind to a wood floor's surface. They make a range of different pads depending on whether your area rug will be used over wood or over carpeting.
