The only thing that tree needs is to be pruned off the roof. Looks plenty healthy.

healthy or not, when the wind blows hard, it swings and thats what worries me.

Trees are supposed to swing. It's a nice tree leave it alone.

TC, trees swing and sway in the breeze, if they didn't it would snap. On the other hand, if you are that worried about it you could offer to have the tree trimmed at your expense and then you would not have to worry.

First of all, it wouldn't take anywhere near $7K to remove that tree. I had a (no joke--they measured) 75 foot dead oak taken down last summer and it only cost me $1K--and it required a CRANE in addition to a climber. And this is by the same company who does tree work for the Town of Huntington.

Second, ditto everyone else. I'd need tranquilizers to live if I was as worried about trees crushing me as you appear to be. I am SURROUNDED by trees bigger than your token threat AND I have little kids, yet I somehow I manage to deal My trees nearly bent in half with the winds from Irene, yet not one of them fell down. That tree looks very healthy AND it's largely buffered from wind by its placement between those two structures. Stop worrying. You'll be fine.

I was just told that pine tree are the worst. they dont root well at all and have very shallow roots. more of a reason get rid of it. when i moved into my house, i removed 5 of them immediately.

I know the guy was lying. no amount of trees is going to cost that amount. like i said, i had 5 pine trees removed from my home and it cost me $1050. his is actually one tree that split into 3.
