I think it is a brilliant idea. I can think of a million better ways that all those dollars can be used.
I could not agree more DIY... It is absolutely asinine how much is thrown away on 'the show' of it all. SO MANY ways to spend that money where it can actually make a difference!!!

They only fell for a short time, there is no way you can say that 1.86 was an average, or even with in a dollar of average for the year.

When he made that crack about gas at $1.86, I was thinking the same thing as everyone mentioned. I remember briefly for a few months that gas was hovering a little above $2.00 per gallon, near me at least. And I recall speculating with some people if it would ever get below $2.00. I don't think it ever did. Maybe at some Costco type of station or one independent station that tried to lure in customers temporarily.

And that reply to MR, that the price was the result of the economic depression was so off. Naturally, the oil companies did not let the prices remain that low for long, nor was the reason for the increase due to an economic recovery.

I think Romney did some funky math there. What I think he meant was that the national average was $1.86, but now in Nassau, it's an upwards of $4. Gas in my area of Nassau hasn't been lower than $2 since before Katrina.

Did anybody else hear about the third-party candidate that got arrested outside the university before the debates?

I saw a headline about that but couldnt read the full story bc I was at work... What happened? It's kinda sad when people run on a 3rd party ticket- they could be what America actually needs but they really have such a small chance of winning. Last time I remember a 3 party election was Bush Clinton Perot in 1992.

I'm a big supporter of Obama... but the third party candidate Jill Stein is a very credible candidate!
I've read her platforms and she is very close to Obama. She's on something like 80% of the nation's ballots. Shame she wasn't allowed to debate.
