It's for both, anybody can get it - 10 gallon limit. Very good chance Freeport is out by now...
I went out last night and got in a gas line that looked pretty short... only to find out that it was people waiting for the station to open at 6AM today. I went back at 5AM and the line was already over a mile long!
For today at least it was for first responders and law enforcement only. Civilians were turned away:
Drove to Langhorne, PA today on business - pulled into the gas station and I was next - they knew nothing of gas problems or lines. Took care of my business in PA and topped off in NJ on the way home and again - pulled into the gas station and I was next. I felt bad for everyone waiting in the lines I saw on the north and south service roads of the LIE on my way home.
your computer or phone or other device will need pdf reading ability to be able to access that page. read the advisory on page1 of the pdf. supposedly the file gets updated regularly. unsure how, since it's a pdf, but that's what the TV news station said
Finally got gas at a no-name station on Hicksville Road in North Massapequa, at 3:30AM. Only had to wait about 25 minutes... car ran out of gas while I was waiting on line and I had to push it!

That is a great site - thanks for the link. Very helpful.
I wonder if other gas co's have that? GOnna try to find out.
I'm surprised other gas companies don't follow suit. Hess is really helping out the people by letting them know where they should be heading for gas.
Two things this storm has made me realized:
1. My next vehicle purchase is will have a Diesel engine.
2. If there was ever a moment that would finally spur the inventors, engineers, and environmentalists to create an alternative fuel, I hope this is it.
Years ago I watched a program where an inventor claimed he created a car engine that ran on water. Claimed the car could achieve a top speed of 60mph, although he never mentioned what the fuel consumption was. I wonder whatever happened to that guy?
