Hello,

I was waiting on a building inspection for my restaurant before Sandy hit. Now I am told that I will be delayed in getting inspected and therefore cannot receive my CoO. I want to start my staff training, especially so I can give these people a source of income. Am I allowed to work in the area without a CoO, I do not plan on cooking or even using the kitchen. Just want to use the dining room to train the staff.

Thanks in advance. My restaurant is located in Garden City, Roosevelt Field Mall.

Yes you could train and work in the area but you can't 'open for business' without it.

^^^If he says "yes", what are you gonna do, have the building inspector go after him? Why don't you ask the town?

Who should I ask about this? It would be through the city of Hempstead.

I feel like it could definitely be different in NY, especially county to county.
