LIPA is not making much progress in East Meadow/Levittown area. Pole repairs are almost non existent. I have been monitoring their site all day and the numbers haven't moved after 4PM.
I hope you get power back soon. I did notice when our power was out that their site didn't update in real time. There was a crew actively working on Merrick Ave and it still said no crew was assined, we had power for hours before it updated itself.
There were a bunch of National Grid trucks on Wantagh Ave across from Island Trees Middle School all afternoon and early evening. Hopefully that means some people are getting power back on!
We've been out since the Monday of the storm. My house is on the south side of the street about half way between Newbridge and Jerusalem. Does anyone from the area know what the major hold-up is? I ask out of curiosity as so many trees came down over there that I'm not suprised it's taking so long. Did we loose a few poles in people's backyards or is something else holding us up?
Work for a hospital on the South Shore so compared to many people down there this is really just an inconvenieince unless you had heavy damage to your house, car or have eldery, imfirmed or young children to worry about. Some of the stories I've heard are horrendous.
Best of luck to all getting throught this.
